Frequently Asked Questions

Let me come to you! There’s nothing quite as relaxing as receiving a massage in the comfort of your own home. No fighting traffic, finding parking, or arranging childcare. Listed below are several frequently asked questions; however, if there’s still something you’re unsure about please let me know.

How does it work?

I will arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to set up the massage table and turn on relaxing music. I will then conduct an assessment by discussing your treatment goals and health history. When I leave the room to wash my hands, you will then undress and get on the table. During your massage, I will communicate with you periodically to ensure that you are comfortable. After your treatment, I will leave the room while you get dressed. I will then provide home care if needed and be on my way. Please view my Covid-19 guidelines for more information.

Where should I have my therapist set up?

Please provide an open area where there is enough room for the table (the table is about 6 feet long). A dimly lit quiet area is nice. It doesn’t matter if there is carpet or hardwood. Usually a living room is great. Please push aside any coffee tables or other furniture that may be in the way.

Do I need to remove all of my clothing?

No, most clients keep their underwear on. If the gluteal muscles need to be treated, I am able to work over the sheet, or the underwear can be moved slightly during the treatment with your consent. You are also welcome to leave your bra on, but it’s easier for me to access your back if it’s off. If there is any other clothing you would like to keep on, you are welcome to. I am able to perform a massage on a fully clothed individual, so you don’t need to feel uncomfortable if you prefer to keep some clothing on.

What oil do you use?

I use holly oil which is a blend of light mineral oils that leaves your skin feeling conditioned and moisturized. I also use a separate body lotion for the hands and feet that is less oily. I also offer complimentary essential oil spray. If you have any allergies or sensitivities please let me know.

How does payment work?

Most people pay after their appointment but you are welcome to pay before your appointment as well. I will direct bill your insurance company if that option is available and you can pay any remaining balance via credit card, cash, cheque, an emailed invoice or eTransfer. Please note that I will help you with direct billing as much as I can, however, payment for your service is your responsibility and if direct billing does not work for whatever reason, the payment is your responsibility. Please keep in mind that some insurance companies require a doctor’s note as well.

When do you arrive?

I will arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time to set up the massage table.

Where do you travel to?

I currently serve the City of Chestermere and the Town of Langdon. If you live in another area, then I’ll happily refer you to another mobile massage therapist.

What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in my day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, I require at least 24-hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24-hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged $40. (This amount cannot be submitted to your insurance company). Please note that if you are sick, I cannot treat you and you should cancel your appointment. No fee will be charged in this circumstance.
